Venite Adoremus is the inscription found on the church bell which is a fitting mission statement for St John’s. O Come, Let us Adore – Christ the Lord. The Adoration is expressed in choral worship and compassionate hospitality.
St John’s is a welcoming Eucharistic based community, committed to moving forward in its mission and outreach to the wider church and secular community, offering a nurturing environment seeking to serve God through the gifts of its people. Based in the centre of Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland, it is part of the Scottish Episcopal Church.
The Scottish Episcopal Church is an open, discussing and engaging church in Scotland and is a member of the world-wide Anglican Communion. It is diverse and widely respected for the quality of its ministry and worship and for the thoughtful dialogue which is characteristic of its life.
At St John’s we aim to be an inclusive church working without making judgments and in complete confidence, with people of all faiths, cultures, races, genders and sexual orientations. We welcome the opportunity of sharing with you in your journey of faith.
We would be delighted to help with Baptisms and Marriages, and we are also available to help support through Funerals and bereavement.
St John’s takes part regularly in Doors Open Day. Back in 2021 the event was online. Please explore this YouTube playlist for our virtual Doors Open Day, or find the videos on our Facebook page.
